Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.
— Viktor E. Frankl

I offer services building custom furniture, turning decorative pieces and furniture components,         on-site, custom sawmilling services and the sale of locally cut, kiln-dried slabs and materials

I am dedicated to the creation of beautiful, heirloom-quality work. My passion for woodworking and my desire to connect people to the world in which they live is rooted in the years I spent working on small farms in the Pacific Northwest. My experiences living and working in agricultural communities taught me that our ability to create, maintain and diversify systems of local production is entirely dependent upon our active participation in them; I carry that lesson into my woodcraft.

Like any good adventure, my work as a furniture builder has followed a curious path. Coursework at the  Oregon College of Art and Craft led to a successful internship with furniture builders Beeken-Parsons of Sheburne, VT and production work at Vermont Furniture Designs in Burlington, Vermont. My return to the Pacific Northwest presented opportunities to balance the start of my own shop with work in a local sawmill and a stretch as a climbing arborist.

Today I call upon all of these experiences in my day-to-day operations with the intention of connecting with my neighbors, building community, strengthening local economic resilience and reducing our collective impact on the environment.
